Notice: To residents of Postdene

Posdene 9th Avenue and surrounding areas has been under the boil water first before use alert as part of addressing the water quality challenge, Tsantsabane LM technical team is currently flushing the water reticulation network. Residents are advised not to close the opened firehydrants. Residents are also advised to contact the municipality when water and sanitation services are required, residents should refrain from tempering with Municipal Services.

We also thank the residents for the ongoing patience and support given to the Municipality team on site.

VAAL CENTRAL WATER AND STAKEHOLDERS PARTNER TO PROTECT WATER INFRASTRUCTURE AT BEESHOEK PUMSPTATION

On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, Vaal Vaal Central Water, Tsantsabane Local Municipality, Anglo American Kumba Iron Ore Kolomela Mine and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) met to address the ongoing illegal dumping and waste accumulation around the Beeshoek Pump Station in Postmasburg.

The engagement follows previous clean-up and awareness initiatives aimed at preventing waste from entering and accumulating around this critical water facility. Illegal dumping at the site remains a serious environmental concern and poses a risk to the operation of the Beeshoek Pump Station, which plays a vital role in the provision of sustainable, quality water to Postmasburg, surrounding communities and businesses.

Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to working together and discussed both short-term and long-term interventions to protect the pump station, strengthen waste management measures, and safeguard water infrastructure for current and future generations.

We call on community members, businesses and industries to play their part by refraining from dumping waste at the entrance of the landfill site or anywhere around the Beeshoek Pump Station. Together, we can protect our environment, our water resources and the infrastructure that keeps our communities supplied with water.
